Federal agencies remain closed on Jan. 25 as the Washington, D.C. area continues to dig out from the weekend’s massive winter storm.
The Office of Personnel Management told federal workers to stay home Monday, with non-emergency employees granted an excused absence, barring telework or travel obligations.
Employees who can telework are expected to work from home, and Emergency employees were told to report to work unless otherwise directed by their agencies.
The Washington Post reported that between one to three feet of snow fell in the Washington, D.C. region over the weekend and said the storm was the fourth-largest on record.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said, in a release that Reagan National and Dulles International Airports would have at least one runway open to continue limited flight schedules through Monday.
Metro is running limited train service to only underground stations, with the Orange Line running from Ballston to Eastern Market, the Red Line running from Medical Center to Union Station and the Green Line running from Fort Totten to Anacostia, while Blue and Yellow Line service remains suspended.
Bus service is limited to 22 routes and will run from noon until 5 p.m.
